Promise the Moon is book one in the Lorimar Pack series by Hailey Edwards. This was a nice start to a new series in the Black Dog world. It’s fast-paced, non-stop action, and adventure.

Ms. Edwards is a remarkable author. The writing is incredible, she mixes characters from her other series, and has way of pulling the reader into the adventure.

Promise the Moon is a spin-off. Dell is introduced to us in the Gemini series. This story is in Dell’s POV. She’s one tough cookie, Beta of the Pack, hurting since she is estranged with her mate, and really taking on too much plus she’s been burned one too many times in the past. Some of those people from her past want a second chance.

I wasn’t a fan of the rival triangle. One has always had a thing for Dell, but she never gave him a chance nor did she lead him on, then her estranged mate well that’s complicated. But the romance or lack of takes second places to the troubles that are plaguing the Lorimar Pack. People in town are going missing and fae from fairy are invading earth.

As for Dell I like her, but don’t love her. She never fully grabbed me like so many other characters in the Black Dog world. I read all the Gemini series; before picking up this spin-off series. I got to meet Dell in that series, so I have a better understanding on what’s going on and her character. I would recommend reading the Gemini series; before this, but you don’t have too.

And last, OMG…. I'm reeling from the ending or should I say it leaves you wanting more NOW!!

I enjoyed Promise the Moon and look forward to more and seeing what will happening next for Dell and the Pack. I highly recommend Hailey Edward’s especially if you enjoy Urban Fantasy. You will be taken on an adventure full of action, mystery, suspense, and more.

Rated: 3.5 Promise Stars

Dell might as well be the alpha because her alphas are absent.

She is being run ragged with all the tasks she is expected to do to keep the pack together and protect the rift between Faerie and Earth. You would think the Earthen Conclave would send more help but all they can do is fight amongst themselves.

I am not too excited about either of the men in Dell's life. Isaac is a man whore and Enzo seems too nice and the nice guys never win.
Plus, Isaac already broke her heart. Is there a third option?

"There were definite perks to being a beta. Using the alpha’s office as a cupcake sanctuary was one of them."

I'm not the biggest fan of the author's inclusion of love triangles in most of their series, but the world is fascinating, and I enjoy the action-packed intrigue.

Argh, I had mixed feelings about the last series from Hailey Edwards, the Gemini Series and so although I requested this book, the first in a new series from NetGalley I was a little reluctant to start reading. I needn't have worried - this had me hooked from start to finish.

Adele (Dell) Preston is the Beta of the newly formed Lorimar Pack which is singlehandedly fighting the fae who are breaking the barrier between Faerie and earth. When her alphas are called to a Conclave meeting Dell is left alone to manage the pack, test potential new recruits, develop some camaraderie between what is essentially a pack of misfits, find some money to pay for all the pack needs and build a new pack facility. Add to that mix a sexy Warlock who has been flirting with her for months, missing restaurateurs and the return of Dell's mate (although it has to be said the male in question does not seem to share Dell's feelings) and this is one big adventure from start to finish.

I loved Dell, she bears the weight of the world on her shoulders and she is desperate to make her alphas proud, she makes strong friendships, she's funny and she accepts a job investigating the mysterious disappearances from a small child. As always, there are a wild variety of weird and unusual fae, both good and bad, and an intriguing cliffhanger for the second book.

I think Hailey Edwards has reverted to some of her best writing/ plotting with this book and I avidly look forward to the next one.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
