Loved the book!
After reading a fantasy series this was the perfect in-between book to read, it’s a short fantasy so it didn’t take me long cause it’s easy to read and I stayed in the fantasy vibe!
The story is a lot like Harry Potter :)
The book isn’t very detailed, I would’ve loved to read a little more about the world and the story itself but it was nice nonetheless.

This was a really good book! It was insanely readable and I adored the characters. I’ll be honest, at first I thought the plot was going to be a bit too basic for me but it became really interesting not long after. I also love the message this book gave.

What a wild ride that was!

First of all, a big thank you to Madison McMahon for kindly gifting me & the rest of the @busybutbookish girls this debut novel to read and review. It's super encouraging to be able to support young female authors!

Filled with magical beings of all shapes and sizes, our story follows Blythe, a young witch, as she starts her journey at Esalroth, a magical academy.

I really appreciated the diversity of our characters and how, even though the prophecy and defeating of the Son of Mara was the driver of the plot, at its heart, this narrative was one of breaking down prejudices and finding where one belongs.

The final leg was so gripping as the truth quickly unfolded, with the ending very sweet.

As I've aged as a reader, I am less inclined to pick up fantasy reads (gravitating instead towards books grounded in reality, I know, pretty boring of me). However, if you are a young reader (I would recommend this for middle grade to young YA) and you want a tale of mystery, magical and figuring out who you are, this read is for you!

Nevertheless, I am thankful for going on this adventure & am wishing Blythe and her sweet diverse crew all the best in the future!

Such a good book & I didn’t see the twist coming. This was like a shorter, more diverse version of Harry Potter & I absolutely loved it.
