This book was so good. Now, it is my least favorite out of the series (I mean Ryan Shay and Kai Rhodes) but is it so freaking good. Ok first off, Stevie Shay is just perfection. I am here for the curvy, plus size representation. She is just an absolute queen and I can't be told otherwise. I would have liked a bit more conflict from her side of the story but that didn't stop me from loving her. Now, Zee *daddy* Zanders. I love him. Such a good character, has good banter, loves his nieces soooo much (melted my heart every single time he talked about them), has such a dirty mouth (and delivers). I think that he went through a lot throughout the book and his development was clear. He made some mistakes that annoyed me but not enough for me to dislike him. Stevie and Zee's relationship is beautiful. He uplifts her so well and she is able to be there for him when he needs to calm down, she reassures him and lowers his anxiety. I love their relationship. I would definitely read this book again with no problems.

I absolutely loved this book and completely fell in love with the characters. I loved the length of the story (because I’m greedy and always want more from stories!).

So cute, AMAZING representation, EVERYTHING you’d want in a rom-com.

The only downside was how lengthy it was, a total brick to get through. If you can pace it right, you’ll adore it!

Zanders + Stevie have my heart 🥹 This book is the perfect blend of banter, spice, romance, sports + emotion. Although it’s a chunk at just under 600 pages, I read it in just a few sittings because I just couldn’t put it down: it was such a fun and engrossing read.

I love an enemies to lovers trope + all the sassy back and forth and tension that comes with it, and it was done perfectly in this plot. Stevie was a fierce and sassy character with quick wit but a lot of insecurities: she was real and relatable + she’s easy to connect to as a character. Zanders was cocky, confident + egotistic but incredibly loyal and when he let his barriers down… *swoon*🤌🏽 he was a total sweetheart to Stevie, and a massive softie at heart 🫶🏽

If you’re not yet convinced, there’s dogs.. lots of dogs!

Between the banter, the steam (we’ll ignore the third act breakup: my one + only complaint), the hockey scenes, the depth to the characters, the honest communication about mental health and therapy, the friendships and found family? This was book perfection 🙌🏽
