Unnecessarily long. Badly cliched. Stevie stop chewing your drawstring. How many times would we read about Zanders rings?

Also the boy-helps-girl-love-herself-despite-her-weight is a tired narrative that needs to be shelved with the Harlequins and M&B's from the 70s. Ridiculous.

Was there character development? Somewhat. But, it was mostly drowned by the juvenile feel of the book.

Also why is Stevie living poor? Why is there an insane amount of pages dedicated to the expensive clothes Zanders wears? Not of these are attractive.

Overall, the book has potential. Despite the ridiculousness, I managed to finish reading it (I skimmed through, but still) and I liked the characters.

Read as you will, my friends. Read as you will.

GOD. This made me feel ALL THE FEELS. You guys. You guys. I'm not a sports romance girlie. But I think I'm gonna turn into one after this.

The relationship was so so good but mainly it was so real and godddd, these two really had me on the edge of my seat, fighting for them in the end 😭😭

Like, is the third-act-breakup realistic? Yes. Did they both have good reasons for acting like they did? Also yes. Did that make it hurt any less? NO

liz i will be sending u my therapy bills

Truly, one of the best plus-size MC's I've read in SO long and like everything else, it was just so realistic. Yes, Stevie does love her body sometimes. But sometimes she hates it. Because that's what life as a plus-size woman is like! *cue to me crying*

As I said, in the end there were some.....moments that weren't it for me, there were so many missed chance and those things just infuriate me lmao so this probably isn't like a 5 stars more like a 4.75?? Or still a 5 i can't decide

But stillll, the breakup was healthy! Love that for them

As soon as I got over the 40% mark, I really spent every moment thinking about reading this book, so yes, would definitely recommend!

Still don't believe romances need to be longer than 300pgs but for Stevie and Zee, I'll forgive it.

in my hockey romance era… but this book? tops all hockey romance for me. i loved it soooo much. the character development was my favorite & their relationship? written to perfect. stevie & zanders were made for each other! the bantering & build up, was so satisfying when the ball (or in this case puck) drop. did i laugh my ass off? yes. did i sobbed like a child? absolutely. also i loved madison & zander’s friendship & adore ryan & stevies closeness!
