If Janet is writing it I'm reading it... I am so in love with Stephanie, Ranger, Morelli and OMG Grandma... I didn't have Goodreads when I read it so I'm adding a review now. But I can tell you the Plum series is an all time favorite. You can't help but feel like your out chasing bad guys with all of them.

Of course this was funny and over the top and completely what I have come to expect and love from the Stephanie Plum series but I will admit this book was not one of my favorites. It kind of rambled and stumbled around and I did not care for the Brenda story line one bit. Why was she even in the book?

This series is still in my top 5 all time but it was a little slow and I didn’t love the story line and there definitely wasn’t enough Ranger in it. Or Grandma Mazur for that matter.

I have really been enjoying the actual stories on top of getting to read about my favorite characters and this just kind of missed for me. By the time I got to the end I didn’t care who did it or if they were going to get Loretta back. And that has been a first for me since reading the very first book.

Don’t worry though. I already have the next book! This will not slow me down. I love this series way too much to ever give up on it!

Oddly enough this was one of my favorite Plum novels. For me it was very fast paced, spent most of the time actually moving the plot forward and not going off on side skips that are usually rather repetitive and not that funny. Also Stephanie made smart decisions throughout which for me shows character growth. I liked her growing comfort with living with Joe and her continued distance sexually from Ranger. Go Stephanie!

Yes, all these books are the same.  Stephanie Plum falls into the middle of some crazy crime trying to apprehend an FTA.  There are many disasters and mishaps along the way and, normally, at least one destroyed car belonging to Stephanie.  In the last 20 pages of the book, it all comes to an end wrapped in a nice big bow.

I don’t care…I enjoy these books and I love the characters and their antics! I can always rely on Stephanie, Morelli, Ranger, Connie, Lulu and Grandma Mazur to make me laugh and reset my mood.  The Plum family dynamics are hysterical and there is always some new character being brought into the mix.  You are never quite sure what you are going to get when you open the book.

In this adventure:
·        Head humping monkey
·        Potato cannon
·        Exploded blue dye pack
·        Engagement
·        Almost proposal
·        Killer pizza
·        Pinkie toe in the freezer

Standards:
·        Cluck in a Bucket skirmishes – 1
·        Car deaths – 1
·        Stephanie and Morelli – On
·        Grandma Mazur tries – Gaming and grave robbing
·        Guest Appearance - Mooner

New characters:

·        Brenda – Aging blond bimbo singer with the hots for Ranger
·        Gary – Friendly stalker

Stephanie Plum, still ON with Joe Morelli but unsure about her relationship with Ranger, finds herself coaxing a woman from committing suicide instead of going back to jail.

In the meantime, Ranger finds himself guarding a famous singer and calls Stephanie in to help, which makes Morelli very unhappy that she’s spending full days and nights with Ranger instead of him.

When Loretta is taken back into custody and no one bails her out, Morelli finds himself the caregiver of her son and for the first time Stephanie and Joe are looking more like a happy family, seeing what it would be like if they have kids of their own.

This was the first book that I found myself not fully enjoying and wishing that Stephanie would start getting her act together, make a final decision on who she wants to be with, and make the next step in her job and her relationship. After fourteen books, you would think she would be able to successfully pick up a FTA without the help of Ranger or even Lula.

Still funny, but I’m waiting for more.
