personally, i found myself slightly underwhelmed with that kind of guy.

firstly, i prefer reading romance books where i see the relationship created and developed myself. in that kind of guy, the relationship was well established. secondly, due to the page length and fast paced nature of this book, the bond between the fmc and mmc from friends to lovers felt a little too rushed for my liking.

now that being said, that doesn't mean i didn't like aspects of this book. i liked that the mmc is demisexual. i hardly see this normalized and explored in literature, so that was a nice addition to this book. i liked the fmc being older and talia hibbert explores the older woman/younger man dynamic appropriately.

overall, if the book was longer, i could see the relationship developing more organically and liking this book more.

This was good, not my favorite ravenswood book at all but good.
Third act breakup scene was atrocious. Litterally so obvious that Rae wrote that book I mean come on.
But the epilogue was very cute.

So, I read this because it had demi-sexual MC rep.

I really struggled with a rating for this book because it was a well-written exploration of intimacy and attraction between an allosexual woman and a demi-sexual man, but it felt like that was all it was. The little plot there was outside their relationship was short, simple, and easily predictable - which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I felt like it had the potential to be something more complex, detailed, and in-depth.

For me this was a 2.5/2.75.

3.75 ☆ I liked it
+ Loved the inclusivity and the way demisexuality was presented + Zach's journey to its discovery and thoughts/struggles about coming out.
+ The dynamic between Zach and Rae was beautiful and their relationship developed in a good pace.
+ Most of the book was from Zach's perspective and it didn't make me vomit! Lately if romance books I read have a males povs, they are disgusting (specifically their thoughts on women, dating, relationships and sex)
+ Liked how the main characters handled their conflicts + the main conflict wasn't overdramatized by characters.
+ The happily ever after didn’t involved kids.

Rae is one of my favourite female protagonists in a Hibbert romance, and I loved her chemistry with Zack. The book was funny, and the plot was deeply entertaining. Would highly recommend for any romance fans!
