Bonkers. The miscommunication was a bit overdone. But strangely it was still fun.

Dear Elodie and Gabriel,

I think these have become an all time favorite of mine. They are cute, and sweet, but mostly it’s the incredible female characters.

They are clever and though face adversity and challenge they still thrive and stay true to themselves. The quirks and vulnerabilities are all so relatable. Elodie was absolutely wonderful.
And Gabriel- the love he had for her ❤️ I loved his POV.

This is pure quirky, clever, romance with so much magic is elevated the entertainment level.

Review Breakdown-
Characters: 5⭐️ You had me a smart, nerdy, overly excited about obscure things and Oxford. This cast was fun.
Setting: 5⭐️ more magical elements than anticipated and it got extremely tense there at the end. This was an incredibly well done regency story and the writing style supported the setting.
Plot: 5 ⭐️ tense and exciting at times. Great character development alongside saving the world.
Themes: 5⭐️ this did not become bogged down by character histories. The fun and lighthearted themes were entertaining and still felt meaningful.
I’m going to note the language and writing style here- that is a huge 5⭐️ for Holton! It brings so much atmosphere but keeps things whimsical and fun.
Emotional Impact: 5⭐️ 😂❤️🥰🫠🥺😭 everything! The magic and ridiculousness did not dampen the effects of Elodie and Gabriel’s relationship and journey.
Personal Enjoyment: 5⭐️ I’ve purchase my own copy for annotation.

I can’t recommend this series enough. It isn’t for everyone since the “science” and writing style could be too much for some. But this exactly my cup of tea!
