I was prepared to live it, because it had so many things I like. Lady scientists! Pining! Magic! 

But the pacing somehow felt off since they were already secretly in love with each other but unable to discuss it at the start of the book. It was hard to get much building from there

the romance? the banter? the writing? all spectacular. I loved it as much as i loved it in the first one, which is saying something, because the first one became my entire world. however, I really struggled to care about the magical mystery and often felt lost. but still. these two idiots in love are everything and I'd absolutely read it again.
