I’ve loved all of India Holton’s books, and this might be in the top two of my favorites. This one just clicked for me, and it was delightful.

I love this author but miscommunication trope is NOT FOR ME. Still clever, well written and cute with likable characters and a believable romance but the miscommunication drove me nuts.

I was prepared to live it, because it had so many things I like. Lady scientists! Pining! Magic! 

But the pacing somehow felt off since they were already secretly in love with each other but unable to discuss it at the start of the book. It was hard to get much building from there
