I feel indifferent after finishing this. The premise was unique and had a different spin on the marriage of convenience trope, however one singular conversation could’ve patched up the strife in their relationship. It felt that we were being told these two characters love each other but not actually proving it. I understand that they were misreading one another but it felt like their relationship didn’t really progress until the final act. I loved how they overcame their differences and were able to be vulnerable/sweet together, but why couldn’t we have gotten glimpses of that throughout the story? I found myself not caring much for the geographer side of the story even though I wanted to. Also some of the events were nonsensical; what do you mean they had to waltz together to get out of quicksand LMAO. I will tune into the next installment since I adored the first book, but this fell flat for me

A friend recommended this to me and I didn't vet it as thoroughly as I would have picking something on my own. This contains my absolute least favorite trope: the story hinges on a situation that could be solved with one (1) conversation. My rating reflects my distaste. It was otherwise a fairly cute and lighthearted read.

The Geographer’s Map to Romance

4.5 ⭐️

I love this series! India Holton’s writing style is so sharp that I cannot wait for the next book!

Geography Professors trapped in a failed marriage of convenience are forced on an adventure to save the world from a tumultuous magical disaster.

These two were such quirky and wonderful characters that I honestly could have listened to this book for much longer than I did. The silly villagers were the hilarious icing on the cake!
