i liked this book even less than the first one which makes me sad! because when i was going into this series, i was convinced that i'd like the second one better which was why i picked it up despite not liking the first book. but from here on out, i don't think i'd read more of this series. i don't think it's for me. this book especially was a let-down. i love a good marriage of convenience trope and the prospect of the husband falling for his literal wife and vice-versa. but again, it just didn't deliver the way i expected. it was less funny than the first book which had gimmicky background shenanigans and characters that made the book a little bit better to read. but i just didn't like the main characters of this book and i wasn't invested enough in their romance.

A very sweet addition to India Hilton’s Romantasy books. I continue to enjoy her heroines though Elodie was starting to edge on manic pixie dream girl a bit, and the bad communication was obstinate.

If you like to read books with yearning, this book has YEARNING.

Elodie and Gabriel have the best dynamic and banter and their internal monologues were so funny. Their love for each other was so sweet, literally had me giggling and kicking my feet.

I loved this book and I love this series, can’t wait for the next one.
