Premise: Natalia’s ex-boyfriend puts a bit on her so she goes to Cristian, the head of the rival mafia family and also her best friend’s father, for protection.
I had high hopes for this one, and the first page was like 👀 - I’m in! But sadly the rest of the book wasn’t really for me. YMMV.
The MMC was a frustratingly overbearing asshole towards the FMC in the beginning (also why I don’t like a lot of ‘dark romances’) and his turnabout into being super protective later on didn’t seem believable. The FMC also wasn’t my favourite - she was constantly fighting back but then suffered from major body betrayal syndrome.

While not exactly an original storyline, I loved our characters and their personalities. Particularly Cristian who remains true to no-fcuks-to-give attitude throughout. I’m definitely looking forward to Benny’s story!!

This was so dark. So, so dark. It starts dark and keeps it up basically the whole time. Cristian is at times a jerk at other times a freaking monster. AND I LOVED IT.
When you start the opening it's kinda shocking, lol. You know from the get go that this is going to be a wild read. And I mean wild.
Natalia needs help. She's being hunted by a mafia family. Who better to help her than the leader of another family who's her best friends dad? So besides being a mafia romance it's also best friends father. And age gap!
Please, please be warned this is really dark. Cristian isn't a sweet romantic hero. He isn't going to become a man who writes poetry. He's the guy who'll burn down the world.
We get a preview of the next couple and yall, I kid you not, the heroine could be another Aria. I'm so, so excited! We hear about her and I was not disappointed.
AND we might actually get an idea of Cristians daughters book too. If so, THAT one will be super complicated.

This was my first book by this author, but I doubt it will be my last. I loved the story, the characters, and the pace. I appreciated that the author truly made the MMC a dark, bad character in the beginning. It made his character development so rewarding to see.

Gorgeous Monster by Charity Ferrell has felt like a godsend after a few hard days and boy am I glad there will be a next book involving the Marchetti family, specifically the son, soon enough since I am nowhere ready to say goodbye to my newest favorite mafia fam
