I only finished the book to finish the series. Honestly, using the same trope twice in a trilogy? It was boring, I did not feel any chemistry between them and the child was just the cherry on top. The only great thing in this book were Addie and Elias. Loved to see them again.

Pretending to be in a relationship with someone you have real feelings for never goes as planned. That's exactly what happens in this wonderful story. The Queen Mother has decided that her favorite child should find a woman and settle down. His older brother is married with a baby on the way and the new King. His younger sister is engaged and planning a wedding. The Queen Mother doesn't want any more scandal. Prince Aramis isn't happy about this. He's been insecure since his accident and deeply in love with his personal secretary and sister's best friend for years. Joslyn is an amazingly hard worker and practically family to them. She has deep seeded feelings for Aramis. When he proposes his idea to Joslyn feelings slowly start to come out and before they know it life is slowly changing... for the better.

I enjoyed this story. I wasn't expecting the little surprise but I loved how it was handled throughout the story. I adored Joslyn and loved Aramis. These two were a match made a long time ago. So to see them finally admit their feelings was great. This is fast paced and everything seems to happen over the winter holidays. But considering how long they have known each other I am not surprised. I really enjoyed this book and just couldn’t stop reading as I wanted to know what happened. If you enjoy pretend romances than you'll definitely enjoy this story!

*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

From the last two books in the series, we get to know that Joselyn is Adeline's best friend and she works as a secretary for Adeline's sister in law Princess Pilar and her brother Prine Aramis.
Aramis and Sofia had such a good love hate chemistry since book one and I was really excited to read their story.

“I think this is the first civil conversation we’ve ever had.” “We have civil conversations all the time.” “Do we? I feel like we’re always arguing.” “You call that arguing? I call it foreplay.” “I prefer my foreplay to be a little more physical.” “I can arrange that.”

Their chemistry was sorching hot and the romance was really cute. Also, I loved seeing the side characters and how far they have come in their lives.

“Are you going to keep reminding me of the mistake I made when I was a teenager?” “Mistake? Once is a mistake. Three times . . . well, I think most would consider that a habit.”

Since Joselyn was well acquainted with the Royal Family, she knew Aramis pretty well and she always thought that he was a spoiled playboy who enjoyed his wealth. But then something happens and Aramis get's into a car accident that pretty much changes his carefree ways. He stops being the party person he previously was and becomes pretty insecure.

“I wish I’d been a different man then. I wish I’d paid more attention to what was in front of me.” “You had years to remedy that and didn’t.”

Now that Aramis got out of his party lifestyle, he started to realize his feelings for Joss and was determined to show her that they work well together. I loved the way he not so subtly came up with the idea of fake dating to keep Joss close to him!

“I’ve wanted you for as long as I can remember.” “Liar.”
I loved their bickerings because they were simply entertaining.
“Packing for me again?” “If I don’t, who will?” “I used to pack my clothes.” “When?” I blinked over at him. “Was this around the same time when you used to do your own laundry?” “Funny.” He chuckled. “You know I’ve never done my own laundry.” “So spoiled.”

Overall, the book was good but I felt like it was short and I just expected something more from the epilogue, but I definitely recommend reading this.

What a book! As per usual, Claire Contreras wrote another amazing book. I love how relatable she made Aramis and Joss, even though Aramis is a freaking prince lol. He just seemed like he could be any guy who goes through a traumatic event and takes a look at his life and how he might need to make some changes afterwards. Then, just add in his brother is the King of France
