Not sure why the author has rape so much, when it’s not even needed most of the time. It’s also kind of been romanticised which I completely disagree with.

I did like the fantasy world in this book, and it was well written.

Once again, the story here is great. I enjoyed the depth of the characters and the growth during the story. However, the sheer amount of sexual assault was extremely difficult to get through. I understand the reality of such things in life and in war, but it was too much.

This second book was a bit slower for me than the first. But I enjoyed it all the same.

The emotional rollercoaster this series put me through is unmatched. Especially when it comes to Galantia and Malyr. I hated Malyr with every fibre of my being. Hated how he treated her.
How he forced himself on her, especially after finding out she was his fated mate
. I did like seeing how after time, though, he tried to be better for her. Especially when he lost his shit when Gal was captured.

Honestly I still prefer Sebian. It was interesting to see that they ultimately decided to be a throuple. Galantia had her cake and got to eat it too. But I was still wondering if things would end that way.
Sabien's death, therefore, was a slight shock but a necessary part of the plot
. It shows his love for both Gal and Malyr and how he helped them come together. I also loved seeing Galantia's growth and especially her strength. I love how strong she is mentally, and she doesn't cower down when things get hard.

Overall, a really entertaining and good read. I enjoyed this series.
