As much as i loved the first book, i loved this one even more. It destroyed me in the best possible way.

Ok. This series had the potential to be a 5⭐️, but I think it hits out at 3. I very, very seldom DNF a book, especially when I’m 50% through it but damn I came close. The dark gets really dark. It isn’t the dark that got me, but how it was handled by the author. Kind of spoilery ahead….

If it was clearer that someone’s “inherited” gifts are the primary drive behind the baser things that happen then I think they wouldn’t hit the wrong way as much. They’d toe the line more rather than blatantly drive in the wrong lane. 

I did appreciate the meeting of the minds as things moved on and there was more communication between the main characters and I felt that sad things that happen aside, everyone got an ending that was somewhat happy. Including characters that didn’t have the ending many hoped for.
