I felt like this book was a refreshing take on Greek Mythology and I loved reading every second of it. Being personally a Percy Jackson fan since I was 12, I am always interested in reading books and seeing how other author interpret the mythology to make an amazing story that is familiar yet different and new.

This was a fun YA adventure. I would love to give this book to my sons because they love all the Percy Jackson books.
There are 4 POV in the book- Galene, Kostas, Braxton and Iyana. They all have different personalities and strengths. I like the multiple POVs, you get different perspectives and different angles during the actin. The books opens up right into Galene immortal trial and it's full of action and adventure.

My favorite character was Iyana and the last 3rd of book she grew so much once she believed to trust in herself. She had some awesome moments. All the characters had their moment of growth or demise. The twist of betrayal was a surprise and a sad moment.

I do get excited when I read a book I know I can give to my teenage sons and not have to worry about the content. Any age would enjoy this book, I think.

I have mixed feelings about this book because it had a lot of potential but the character had slow growth and the ending felt very rushed.

My full review is on my blog.

Initial Thoughts
I couldn't wait to dive into this book. Children of the greek gods? A test of power to determine if you're worthy of immortality? Sign me up!

Some Things I Liked
Multiple POVs. I loved the different POVs here. They all felt so perfect and I loved that they were distinctly different from each other. Each of the narrating characters had different things that motivated them and drove them to their actions and I loved reading from each of their perspectives.
The romance plots. I also really enjoyed the distinctly different romance plots. Kostas and Galene were probably my favorite because they had snarky banter.
Standalone. I loved that this book wrapped up as one book. I also hated that because I want more of this world and these characters, but I really respect the fact that it wrapped up so succinctly in one book.

Series Value
Give me all the books about these characters and set in this world. I love greek mythology and loved the voices of these authors. I'd happily keep reading.

Final Thoughts.
This book dethroned Percy Jackson as my favorite book inspired by greek mythology. Need I say more?
