Wonderfully tender and real novel. I found Hadia and her character development painfully relatable in a way I didn't anticipate going in. Some pieces of the plot felt rushed but that was the only thing I wanted more from, and I think those pieces only stuck out to me because the rest of the story unfolded do slowly and delicately & with such immersive detail.
Graphic: Mental illness, Physical abuse, Self harm, and Emotional abuse
Moderate: Violence, Blood, Racism, Xenophobia, and Islamophobia
Minor: Miscarriage and Car accident

I have never felt so seen and understood until this book. I have also never cried as hard as I did during the last few pages of this book. This is the kind of book I waited my whole life to read. Thank you Fatima for writing a story about us !
Moderate: Violence, Addiction, and Death
Minor: Islamophobia and Death
