Within finishing reading “Angels and demons”, I’ve finally come to the conclusion that fast-paced, action filled thrillers are not my thing.

I had pretty high expectations for this book; Religion, conspiracy theories, symbology, mystery, history, Rome? Yes please! In the end I can’t say I was disappointed.

The plot was interesting and kept me hooked throughout the book. I was honestly surprised about many plot twists, although I did predict some too. The characters, especially the main character Robert Langdon, felt surprisingly real and not at all empowered, but I still was left wanting a bit more depth to them. Maybe The Da Vinci Code will offer that?

The pacing of this book was horrendously fast; all 736 pages spread out over only a couple of hours, but I think Dan Brown handled the pacing quite well nonetheless.

In all this book was a page turner that I enjoyed greatly, but it didn’t leave me to stare the wall or with rousing. I think it would be a good beach read.

I can’t wait to watch the film, I hope it lives up to my expectations!

Although a quick and easy read (I don’t really have to pay attention to every word), this was not my favorite.

My first book of Dan Brown, had been an amazing experience. A great book to get out of a reading slump. Even though, the Robert Langdon series follow a sequence, I bought this book without knowing which number it fell on (the serial). Angels & Demons made me buy rest of the Robert Langdon books, and I think that speaks loud enough.
