Whaaattttt aaaaaaaa booooookkkkkkk ❤️❤️❤️ I am in love with this series. It is really very interesting and fun to read. A go-to read for everyone especially if you love reading thrillers and romnace genres, will absolutely love this series. I am currently reading the second book in this series and I am super excited to have this story in my mind.

So, I predicted from the beginning that Harry was somehow related to the Hawthorne family (that was PRETTY obvious like come on). As Avery called Harry an OLD MAN, I thought HE WAS TOBIAS HAWTHORNE but then when Nan showed her Toby's photo and she said she knew this man my mind instantly clicked that Toby IS HARRY.

So ALL of this set up is just for an anagram "a very risky gamble"? This is so underwhelming. Also, I couldn't care less about the whole Emily issue. The only character I found more likeable than anyone else is Alexander. I didn't quite like the over repetitiveness of the certain phrases Avery ran in her mind. Clearly it didn't add much to the story. Regarding the love triangle, I agree with someone pointing here there wasn't any actual build up to Grayson from wanting to kill her to willing to protect her at all cost. The author tried to make it a mystery case by adding hidden compartments, tunnels, secret passages and what not. But the results didn't live up to it in my opinion. That being said, I liked HOW this gigantic house turned out to be a city on its own. I mean ignoring the rest, it had five libraries?! Say no more. You may be wondering all I've done for the most part is negative talking then why did I rate it as high as 3.00? The first reason being I listened to the audiobook that made it less irritating than it actually was. Second of all, I didn't quite dislike it. I just found it less entertaining than I initially thought out to be. I will still continue reading the series because I don't like dropping them the middle way.

I loved this book from beginning to end, I literally couldn’t put it down and, if I have had the chance, I probably would have finished it in one sitting. Even though I had high expectations around this book, due to the fact that the first series that I read from this author is probably in my top 5, it didn’t disappoint me in any way, since it made me fall in love with the characters, the plot, the writing style and, last but not least, the atmosphere. It soon became my favorite read of the year so far, and I didn’t hesitate one moment before giving it a full 5 stars. The plot develops quickly thanks to how fast-paced this first installment is but nothing ever feels rushed. I fell in love with every single one of the characters, I felt connected to them and I kept thinking about them even days after finishing the book. Jennifer Lynn Barnes made me enjoy even the love triangle trope, which I tend to dislike, and, even though it is quite obvious who she will end up with, I am not bothered by it.

Insta-billionaire, puzzle house and 4 sexxxy brothers. I’m actually jealous of this main character.

Ripped through it in a day. A super enjoyable read with a fast paced, twisty plot very reminiscent of Knives Out. I felt like fleshing out the characters took a little bit of a back seat to the mystery, but you still ended up with a sense of the main characters regardless. Great twist at the end, leading right into book two.
