I really tried but I thought this was pretty awful. I didn't connect to any of the characters.

An exceptional book that demonstrates the pessimism at the peak of postmodernity. My mom once said that I would have fit snuggly into her generation — Generation X — if I only I were less angry and more complacent in the way the world is working. I have to say that if this book is indeed representative of a sort of universal Gen X vibe, then I wholeheartedly agree with my mom's assessment.

I'm too young for this shit. like Reality Bites, I find the main characters to be self absorbed assholes who need to suck it up and stop whining. hopefully other Coupland novels are better

life in the fast lane. which is now, unfortunately, the only lane.
This is my designated “i read it in high school and it changed me as a person” book. The last passage with the kids on the bus and the egret will never leave my mind. Ever.

Насправді виявилось доволі легке та комфорне читання. Можливо це все ж було за того, що проводила паралелі з власним життям? :)
