savvylit's review against another edition
Something about these stories just didn't work for me. They were each narrated by men and the way that these narrators discussed women just made me uncomfortable. After reading multiple stories where the only female characters are intensely objectified, I was dreading continuing this book. So I just decided to not finish.

This was an interesting read. It’s very well written, but I wouldn’t recommend it to most people I’ve met due to the weight of the topics presented. I found the quicker I read through the less it resonated but if I stopped to marinate, I almost drowned in the message. I think I’ll check in with me, make sure my mental space is good, and revisit at a later time.
UPDATE: It was difficult to find the right approach and pace, but once I got the hang of it, it was 100% worth it. Definitely a message that needs to be shared.
