Chiang is quite talented at endings. I enjoyed the relationships between characters much more than the technical explanations of the science, though I can appreciate it. For that reason, my favorites are “The Merchant...” and “The Truth of Fact, The Truth of Feeling.” I also enjoyed the framing devices, particularly when they became clearer at the end of the story.

Ted Chiang does not disappoint. I first read The Stories of Your Life and Others and was blown away; this book has achieved the impossible and exceeded that! Highly recommend for anyone interested in sci-fi - and even better if you're into the brainy, nerdy, complexly rendered, but still somehow very human kind of sci-fi stories. This book was well worth every minute!
