a very generic, run of the mill thriller. honestly kind of bored me a little, i wanted more juicy rich person tea but the reveals all felt a little lackluster for me

the element of the social media aspect i felt had a lot of promise, i wanted to see more and more fall out from those revelations. the story failed a bit in my opinion

Rounded up I'll give this 3.5 stars

This was a very fun read, I'm always drawn into stories involving rich people behaving badly (who doesn't?). If you enjoyed "One of Us is Lying" by Jeneva Rose, I'm sure you'll have a good time reading this. However I kept finding myself asking "when are they going to get to the fireworks factory" aka "when are they going to get what happens in the plot synopsis?". I was really hoping for more focus on the website leak and the fallout from it but instead it served more as a way to help conclude the mystery. Instead it's really more about the events leading up to it and giving all the characters possible motives. Despite this, I view this reading experience as a positive one and it kept me invested the entire time, I tend to like non stop drama but again, who doesn't? ;)

Thank you to Bantam and Edelwiess for a galley of No One Needs To Know in return for an honest review.

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a slow-burn mystery/thriller.

I loved the setting. Who doesn't love reading stories about NYC elite, private school parents? I love thrillers set in NYC and private school parents that will do anything to get their kids in the top school. I was definitely intrigued with this book.

I enjoyed the writing and writing style. The chapters were a good length and easy to read.

The plot of the book definately kept my attention and I was interested in finding out what was going to happen.

I did have 2 issues with the book that are the reason for the 5/10 star rating.

My biggest issue is that the story moved so slowly. I like thrillers to be fast paced and something interesting needs to happen early in the book to get me hooked. I didn't read anything exciting or interesting until 40% into the book.

Sometimes the beginning of the books can feel slow because the author is trying develop the characters so the reader can get attached or emotionally invested in them, so is that what happened here? Unfortunately, no, which brings me to my second issue. All the characters range from morally gray to awful people, who will buy, bribe, blackmail, or worse just to bump their ego or `one up` the other. It was hard to feel bad or cheer on any character. In reality, that is probably how the real world works, but in books, characters need to evoke some feelings for them (good or bad). I just didn't feel anything for these characters or care what happened to them. I was curious to see how the book ended, but I really didn't care which way the ending went.

The last chapter really tied this together so nicely. I enjoyed this book overall!
