I got some strange looks on the T while reading this book. This book is a smart, witty and sarcastic fictionalized account of Jesus's life. It wasn't as Laugh Out Loud funny as Christopher Moore's "Lamb" (which is still one of my favorite books), but there were some parts that made me grin. In this book, Jesus is depicted as an unwilling martyr who rebels against God's selfish choice to (paraphrashing here...) use him for His own purposes.

Not the masterpiece I was expecting - the last third of the book felt very rushed. Very amusing perspective. Irreligiousness aside, I’ve always enjoyed a good Jesus story.
