A fascinating book but already it feels a little out of date. Moreover at times it feels too clinical when applying a blandly scientific view of things that have impact on people's lives.

The book started off great. The first two parts are really interesting, but as the book progresses the author makes bold statements that strike as an attempt to be sensationalist. Specifically talking about the last chapter about the future of the species, me being a biomedical engineer myself, am very sceptical of the assumptions that he makes about what it will actually be possible to achieve, even in centuries time.
So, although it is a great book about history of our species and how we came to where we are today, most of it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Harari always makes difficult to grasp concepts graspable. Sapiens covers a lot of ground on a few pages but it remarkably manages to hit all the key points. Harari confronts a lot of topics that we might have overlooked or be unaware of while also showing interconnected lines of narrative. A brilliant historical and informative read!

Very interesting. I have a feeling if I was more involved in this field I'd have more issues, but as a lay person, I enjoyed it.
