I did not like how it was written at all, i didn't connect with the story and most of it went in one ear and out thp other. It was also very repetitive and i had to make myself finish it.

just sublime. i couldn't love woolf more.

Life is too short to read books you don’t enjoy, right? I love the writing in this one but the rest is too confusing.

Dalgalar kıyıda parçalandı."

Kişisel favorim halen Deniz Feneri olsa da Virginia Woolf der geçerim... ♥️

This quote seemed to encapsulate Woolf and this book as a whole:
“I have made up thousands of stories; I have filled innumerable notebooks with phrases to be used when I have found the true story, the one story to which all these phrases refer. But I have never yet found the story. And I begin to ask, Are there stories?”
This felt like such an attempt… phrases strung together in search of stories.

I was never good at reading poetry, & prose-style poetry is no exception. I need to hear it to get it. I downloaded the audiobook, & have been enjoying it that way. There is so much subtle emotion in this book that I'm afraid I would miss if I were reading the words on the page.

Yet there are moments when the walls of the mind grow thin; when nothing is unabsorbed, and I could fancy that we might blow so vast a bubble that the sun might set and rise in it and we might take the blue of midday and the black of midnight and be cast off and escape from here and now.

My second attempt at reading Virginia Woolf was very much successful and I'm so happy about that. This was the most poetic and lyrical writing style I have ever read and I honestly feel like it doesn't get any better than this. As for the characters, I think Neville is probably my favourite, but I'm planning to read some character analysis and decide on that later on. I will definitely be reading more of Woolf's work soon.
