I need to be honest about the fact I haven’t read any of this in months so that I don’t feel guilty about starting new library books.

Probably not the best book to get acquainted with Virginia Woolf, but here we are.
We follow the internal monologues of 6 different characters, from childhood until the old age.
I was able to engage with the story, despite the strange and experimental style of writing. But some other times, specially towards the end, I was not engaged at all and  felt like reading through the end was a chore. Too much poetic wondering.
Despite that, it was ok to follow these 6 characters, see how different they were and how they kept a nice friendship over the decades. But makes me wonder how much more interesting it would have been to read their stories in a sort of "normal" narrative.

Lost interest. Confusing timeline

Beautiful writing though difficult to follow at times. Especially in the beginning i was quite confused but after reading a couple articles I got the just of it. Rhoda is who I relate to the most. It's very impactful how she's written. I especially was moved by the scene with the flowers thrown to the sea. Bernard says of Rhoda: "Rhoda loves to be alone. She fears us becausw we shatter the sense of being which is so extreme in soltitude... " (p.94)
