Beautiful novel on on what it means to be the only woman in your workplace and on how society reduces women to servitude and their reproductive function. Definitely a feminist read. Loved how the reader can perceive Shibata's loneliness, caused by "not fitting in" with the other women, a male dominated field, a full time job, capitalism, no strong connection. Amazing.
