it’s probably concerning that my first thought was that this book was a “slice of life”

New favorite. I love Esther so much and I love Plath's style. You know when you read a really good book and your thoughts start forming in the way that the author writes? For like a day after I finished it I was thinking as if I were Esther. Lots of fun. She's real, what can I say!

Read this a long time ago and the only things I remember are enjoying it but it taking me a while to get through. I'd be eager to read it now I'm older and could probably appreciate it a little more.

A very intense book about mental health and the role of women in society. It brings up big questions about feminism, society’s perception of the female, motherwood, women’s career and I dare every woman who’s willing to question her own role in society to read this book. It will make you think and question our society and cultural view of women and, even, mental health.
