This book transported me to 1969 New England, which is exactly what I wanted it to do. The characters were interesting, and I found myself invested in their journeys. Can’t wait to read the follow-up.

5 stars for what it is, which is a summer beach read. This is perfect for that.
The story is good. There is a hint of mystery that I personally enjoyed. I also really enjoyed the family dynamic and the character develop went. This was also a fun read because of the setting of the year 1969.

I’ve not read much historical fiction from this time period, and I liked how each character explored a different aspect or event of 1969.

A book club read that I really enjoyed. I like a character driven story and this is definitely one. Each character is "real" and I would like to know where they are now 50 years later. Interesting story, interesting family.

I listened to the audiobook during a few long drives. I like that this is a 50th birthday present to her twin; the novel itself feels rushed: characters that appear and disappear (that Vineyard college friend); cliche plot devices, control over tone, etc. I enjoy Hilderbrand’s Nantucket books - they are terrific diversions from tedious drives, in particular. This one is not as crafted as the others I’ve read and listened to.
