“Tell me,” he whispered, his voice sliding like silk over my flushed skin.
“What?” My own voice came out breathless.
“I am your favorite sin.”

A masterpiece from start to finish.

Blows the first book out of the water. Emilia and Wrath's relationship is just too good. The banter and tension were chef's kiss. The first half seemed to really focus in on these two and their complicated feelings for one another. The second half starts to really focus more on the plot and draws you right in. I was on the edge of my seat as Emilia uncovered the truth about who she is, and discovered power she had all along.

In KOW, it felt like Emilia's one personality trait was cooking. In KOC, I feel like we get to see more depth of character. I love the witch that she has become. If you fell for Wrath in KOW, prepare to faceplant. He is absolutely DRIPPING in temptation in this one. No spoilers, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how everything played out at the end.

Very HIGHLY recommend if you are on the fence about continuing the series. I had to exercise great restraint to keep from hollering and throwing the book whenever Wrath was around. Too good -- READ IT.

**Also hoping for more of the other princes in future books! I want their stories :)

2.75 stars, and I'm feeling gracious to round it up to a 3.

This book suffers from "the sequel problem" many second books of trilogies and series have in which it just feels meh compared to the first book. And to be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of the first book in this trilogy either, but I wanted to see what happened next and my library system has these books so I didn't see a reason not to read the second book.

While there was a lot of this that just straight up bored me, the reason I don't care for this book is because the first 150 or so pages have some plot, but mostly revolves around Emilia being horny. It felt like every other page was her thinking about Wrath dicking her down before she was like "No, I can't keep thinking like this!" or denying she was feeling that way when Wrath called her out for being thirsty for him. Rinse and repeat. And it was like this for the first 150 pages, with a little bit of traveling to add some action.

That part honestly put an entire damper on my feelings for this book, and so while more plot stuff did sort of happen afterward... because it was meh at best, I think that made it so I couldn't bring myself to give this book a better rating. Also sometimes Emilia would come up with thoughts or ideas and I kept thinking "Where did this come from?" and then it would have somewhat valid standing in the book even though it felt like her thoughts and conclusions were reaching at best.

Because I like to torture myself, I probably will read the final book in this trilogy at some point, and maybe I'll read the adult spin-off series which has one book out at the moment (because that book was the entire reason I started reading this trilogy because I was told by a review that it was better to know about this trilogy first). We'll see.

Emilia is so dense & cringe worthy.
