THIS WAS REALLY GOOD
not as slow burn as the previous duology but i Love that Charles and John were already past lovers and John never let him go and that Madeline just wanted to be free and then now she just wants these two men and to be happy. The spicy writing in true Emily fashion was PHENOMENAL and wow oh wow John warrens mouth was FILTHY and I fkn loved that and him. There was literally a little of everything in here and then Madeline getting a backbone at the end of the story was amazing! And they named the baby that?! Oh my god my heart that was so sweet. I love this couple and now I have officially caught up on all Emily Raths writing that is currently out and thatโ€™s so upsetting because every single one of her books is a banger and I love her writing and her characters and her balance of the characters having a life but really going into detail in the relationship dynamics and character growth is amazing and this book was no different

This is the hottest historical romance/erotica I've read to date, and the first with a poly romance. One thing that I didn't like was the hierarchical nature of their relationship, although this wasn't front-and-center of their dynamic.
It was like Charles and Madeline were subs and John was their dom, and both of their relationships to John were more important than the relationship between Charles and Madeline. It's suggested that this hierarchical poly dynamic is even more apparent between the main characters of the other books in this series, so I do not plan on reading those.
This is just personal preference, really, but the hierarchical, almost BDSM-like dynamic is not my thing, at least in this instance.
