I Caen't Even Lie-- I kind of Love how this Book was Written; so Sprawling; so Expansive, Paragraphs going On and On in this Way Which makes it Quite Difficulte to Quote as one is really not Particularly sure where One Sentimente ends and Another Begins-- but I took no great Pleasure in reading this book, Seeing that it took me So very long, and that I was made to Write a Paper about it made the Predicament even Woerse-- but of course it Grows upon you, like a weary Vine-Riddled Home, and I also Loved the inexplicable Italicization and Capitalization of random Phrases and Nouns, which I understand were traditions of the Era but were Funny to Read nonetheless, this being said, of course, This was still a Slog overall, and I shall resolve to spend the Remainder of my Years in sincere Gratitude that, Hopefully, I need not pick this book up Againe.

Took me 5 months to finish. Torture

This was... something. I can't say I liked the main character, although I admired how she managed to overcome most things thrown at her. The book was mainly about her torrid love life (5 husbands and a few other men besides) which happened to (unnecessarily) include incest. EW. The second half of the book (highwayman husband onwards) was the better half, with more interesting things going on. That said, I can't say I was every really into the book. It took me a ridiculously long time to read (it halved my reading rate thanks to the archaic writing style) which definitely didn't help. Also, Moll was a shit mother. She abandoned like all of her kids to her husbands/their families after a while. Geez. Also the book had preachy tones at the beginning and the end which was annoying. I only read this because I had to for college. Ugh. 2 stars.

4/10

This experience started absolutely horrible - every time I had completed what felt like 100 pages, I had only read 5. It was so slow, and only had a few passages that were actually interesting. Needed an audiobook to get through it.

Would’ve rated even lower if my teacher hadn’t managed to pull me along with her excitement about the book.

This would have been a DNF if I hadn’t had to; would not recommend!

can't kill a b**** like moll flanders

fun read, but a little strenuous for the modern day reader. sentences span from entire paragraphs to entire pages, and there are no breaks i.e. chapters or a hiatus.

really loved reading what the hell moll was gonna do next, or what was going to happen to moll next, as you could never really predict it.

This book pained me... 12 hour audio book and I was struggling. It was almost 400 pages of a woman rambling on about her failed love relationships and is just in pursuit of money and reputation. Not to mention the many times she’s gotten pregnant and just abandoned her kids without a single thought??? I would’ve given up after 5 pages if it weren’t a class assignment.
