I do enjoy this series a lot but I do also have a lot of problems with it as well. I'm so conflicted.

Characters: I usually start with plot but I think this section is easier for me to wrap my head around. And that's because 90% of the characters...are bland. I feel like since the series has gone on characters have become shells of themselves. I've always felt that Schuyler has been a bit of a self-insert and I couldn't careless about Jack lmao. But yea I think the series has sucked the soul out of most characters. EXCEPT for Mimi. I don't like her as a person but she does move the story along, which I do appreciate. Also we got a pov from Allegra (Gabrielle) which was really refreshing. She's been such a key characters without having any input on the series so far. So I'm happy we got something from her.

Writing: I do like how we've strayed from that gossip girl like writing. It was sooo reminiscent of Cecily von Ziegesar's writing imo. We've strayed from that and it's definitely become a more accessible writing style. Not very stylized, however.

The Plot: This is the part that I'm conflicted on. I'm very torn on whether or not I truly like the way this series has progressed. At the beginning of the series it was a very lighthearted urban supernatural series and now its not. It's progressed to something with a little more depth. The writing doesn't have the levity to match the seriousness of the the situation the characters are in. Don't get me wrong, I am very intrigued by the premise but there's a disconnect at times. It's like watching an episode of Bob's Burgers and it turns into a mini series of Anna Karenina, both good media in its own right but a big disconnect.

Overall: I approach any installment of this series looking for a good, quick read. Something to take my mind off things but I'm not exactly in a critical mood.

If you like: vampires, upper elite New Yorkers, fallen angels, forbidden loves, blasphemy (my catholic grandma would clutch her pearls if I told her the premise of this series), teens/young adult

The best thing about this series is it’s such an easy read. It doesn’t take much at all to follow along. I’ve found I like to use the books as a pallet cleanser of sorts.

All in all though, this book didn’t have the love the others do. Now that Jack and Schuyler are bonded, and Mimi remembers what it means to love there isn’t much left. Sure the fight for the Blue bloods remains, but this book was more about the journey. Interested to see what the end game is for everyone.

I have been a fan of this series since 2007. When I read the first book, I was not a big fan. The kids were snobby, the vampires were NOTHING like Stephenie Meyers' and the plot was confusing. Now, five years later, the series is wrapping up, and I am so sad. I love the characters and how much they have grown, the plot is all starting to make sense, and the snobbiness has (almost) dissipated. I loved that this novel had a new perspective, the voice of Schuyler's mother Allegra. My only complaint is that as the series progresses, it doesn't seem like any of the points in the plot are being solved, new pieces are just being added. Hopefully, the last book wrap up the series well, and do De la Cruz's creative series justice.

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read the previous Blue Bloods books, do not read this review. However, there will be no spoilers from this book!

Lost In Time, the sixth book in the Blue Bloods series, does not disappoint. I have to say that this is one series that only gets better as it goes on. Lost In Time was full of suspense, romance, lies, and betrayals. Oh and that ending! Can it just be January 2013 already?

The characters in this series have really developed since the beginning. Schuyler is strong and brave and willing to do whatever it takes to save her race. Jack is loving, sweet, brave, kind, and so selfless. His love for Schuyler is all that matters and he will do anything to protect her. Mimi is not the bitch everyone thought she was. She finally shows her heart (and her conscience) in this book. Allegra and Charles have a much more twisted story than anyone could expect. Kingsley is back and better than ever. Oliver is moving on (finally) and growing up. These books have a seriously great cast of characters.

The story switches POVs with each chapter; Schuyler, Mimi, and Allegra (in the past) all get to tell their stories. It was a good way to build suspense because you are left wondering what is going on with the other characters between chapters. Not that there wasn't enough suspense in this book already! Geez! Melissa de la Cruz really threw some curveballs in this book.

Overall, Lost In Time is a fabulous addition to the Blue Bloods series. Can I please know how it all ends? Pretty please?
