Definitely a must read to gain a better perspective of the Black Experience in the U.S. A way for me to branch and educate myself of how my black brothers and sisters go through in the world. Even if they reach a goal outside of what’s expected, they still feel the discrimination and racism from people’s unconscious biases.

Powerfully beautiful writing made more emotional as a love letter to the author's son. I feel honored that Ta-Nehisi Coates allowed me as a reader into his life and beliefs so intimately. 100% recommend the audiobook, to hear his writing in his own voice is incredible.

I didn't expect this to be written as a letter from a father to his son, but that, combined with hearing it in the author's voice as an audiobook made for a very powerful read. Coates' voice feels honest and real, while addressing incredibly challenging and personal topics. This is a great read, particularly as an audiobook.
