This one just didn’t hit me as much as the first two in the series. I think my biggest issue is that this felt like a teaser for something longer and just didn’t work on it’s own as a short story. I thought the premise was spot on, but the issues that Jemisin tackles here need more room to breathe. In this short length it all just feels forced. Cool idea though.

TL;DR: A bunch of smug rich assholes go Galt when it becomes clear the earth will soon be uninhabitable. It goes kinda how I imagine a going Galt situation would, except these Galtians don't die out due to having no one to cook or wipe their asses for them.

Jemisin does the best second person in the business! Great story. Not sure if the twist was supposed to be a surprise because it wasn't. Lots of funny moments. I especially liked the really childish jokes, nice contrast with the heavy story.

Great messages, liiiiiitle bit heavy handed but it's only an hour listen so do it; it's not gonna kill you.
