he is so pretentious and i couldn't stand it, even this early in the book lol; I do not find that the diary format helped at all, if not made it worse. However, might try his other memoir, Taste, because this one seems to be a sequel (at least partially). The idea was cool though, I wish it was better executed (or executed by someone else).
