Pretty good, fun read! He’s kinda sorta really snobby but ig I expect no less from this fierce 5’5” man. He makes strange statements about his wife being unfaithful?? Found that weird. But I like reading about the Italian food he makes. It made me want to cook more which I think would make Stanley happy πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ

Tucc at his best, dry and witty, generous in descriptions of his meals and in sharing his thoughts.

As much as I enjoyed his previous book Taste, I really wanted to love this book. At first I enjoyed the vignettes of his life through food, as daily diary entries. But by the end I was so irritated with the constant celebrity name dropping, the persistent digs at his wife (I kept waiting to see if he’d out her for infidelity or some other sordid deed, but alas it was just passive aggressive digs), and the snobbery of it all I wanted to drop kick the book into my kitchen as soon as I finished it.

It is hard to feel sympathetic for someone complaining about the food in first class, complaining about store bought pasta, or the service in high end restaurants that the average person will never set foot in. Truly, Stanley, pick a struggle.

Overall I would like the time I spent reading this book back.

I adore him in his profession as an actor and enjoyed listening to him share this story. The dialect was interesting. I enjoyed how he pronounced culinary. I love food and show love through food as that's how I was raised, though I am no chef, so this book resonated with me.
