More than anything, this book left me wanting to know more of the story. What did these kids go through? What did their birth parents go through? But I know my story, and it is a tragedy that they do not.

Story Behind the.Story

If you have read Before We Were Yours, read this story of the reunion of men and women who survived Georgia Tann and her crimes.

I DID IT! Book #80 for the year!!
I think this was worth reading, but I did not enjoy it as much as the fictional story 'Before We Were Yours'. These stories need to be told, but this one focused on several families and at times they felt unfinished for me.

That being said... If you are curious about the Tennessee Children's Home and the countless black market adoptions, DO check this out!

Lisa Wingate's best seller, Before We Were Yours, was an excellent, fictionalized story based on a real-life scandal where babies and children were stolen from the poor to be sold to the rich. This book by Judy Christie and Lisa Wingate relates some of the real-life stories of some of the orphans who were victims of that scandal, some who actually learned the truth because of Lisa Wingate's book Before We Were Yours.
