This book has beautiful prose, thoughtful imagery and a creative structive that gripped me. I also enjoyed the short chapters as they made the book easy to read. While the topic was heavy and it was difficult for me to read certain parts of the novel, I greatly enjoyed it.

i have serious mixed feelings — how do you review someone’s life? the writing is really gorgeous, and i really appreciate this novel’s attempt to fill the gap about domestic abuse in the lesbian archive.

Machado had a lot of courage in talking about her story and a lot of heart in telling the story of other queer women. This book really opened my eyes to a topic I never thought to look at head on.
