This was not at all what I expected it to be. I went into this assuming/hoping that the story would revolve around a monster that takes the shape of a loveable pet (think Pennywise taking the shape of a clown). Nope! This book is heart-wrenchingly sad. There are sections written from Cujo's perspective that completely broke my heart.
There are no monsters in this book, even though it teases that to you at the beginning. This is simply the story of a somewhat neglected animal that gets rabies and hurts/kills many people during his slow and painful death.
I wanted to be scared and enjoy a good spooky book for October; Instead, I was just sad and felt the need to hug my dogs.

I don't think a book has ever bored me so much. Especially not a horror book.

This was better than I expected. There are so many unanswered questions and interesting suggestions you are left to ponder after reading this book. Honestly, I am happy to do so. Usually, it would drive me nuts to have these questions answered but it works for this story.
