Ms. Kay knows how to set a fantastic paranormal world with strong heroines, interesting plots and smexy times.

Enza owns a bakery with her friend the Java Genie and she makes amazing baked goods. On her way home from work Enza doesn’t realise how late it is and is about to get mugged or even worse. She cuts through an alley and jumps into a mirage blurry thing ah also known as portal.

Rhys is a Watcher in Chicago after a betrayal that cut deep he can do what he loves once again. On patrol they see a skirmish between elves and demons and intervene, that though doesn’t stop him from smelling sugar and seeing someone jump into the portal. Thinking that person is the enemy he jumps in and saves her.

Enza is thrust into a world with demons, werewolves, elves, pixies and nymphs. Although Enza herself isn’t who she thinks she is.

Enza is part demon without realising it. She has abilities that are magnificent and she deals with the world she was thrust into perfectly, maybe too perfect. No hysteria, nothing.

I enjoyed the relationship with the MC and they are good together: I love the whole mated thing so that was a bonus.

I love this series and I couldn’t wait for this book as soon as I saw that it is being released. But alas this one didn’t really quite work for me. Bad thing? I guessed about 20 % too soon what was going to happen.

I will look forward to the others coming out in the series.

I relish returning to the Watcher world. The verity of demons and the warrior Watcher’s are all delicious. Their was a lot to savor in Awakening Kiss.

The author dose a wonderful job explaining how the world, mates work, and all the different creatures, so if you have never picked up a Watcher's Kiss book before you could grab this one and go. It reads well as a stand-a-lone!

I liked how the story started. Our heroin has no clue as to her heritage (who she is) and stumbles into a supernatural conflict. I have to say she took things rather well. It almost felt like she took things to well, but it was nice not to have to deal with an upset or over reaction from the heroin. Our hero, Lash demon, and Watcher is yummy. What can I say. Rhys is a scrumptious demon.

Rhys and Enza are drawn towards each other after that first run in. He wants to learn more about her and she feels a connection to him. When they end up having their first kiss... HOLY MOLY it's EXPLOSIVE! As for the romance, it was nice and they make an adorable couple. I'm not sure I can buy into her trusting him so much after only one day. Trust takes time.

I had a delectable time and look forward to more in the Watcher’s Kiss series.
