I am so glad I did not give up on this one. The opening is a little weird (as in.. i probably read it all wrong but.. it gave the impression of nonconsensual forced intimacy between the two protagonists which was accepted and even encouraged.. not in a good way.. and it was just a little triggering for me) and if it hadn't been for the number of great reviews on goodreads i would have most definitely dnf-ed this gem. As it is i loved it. My advice: Trust the author.. consent forms an important part of the ensuing relationship. Looking forward to reading more books in this series. :)

I did not care about the characters, I felt their only function was to have stilted conversatitions explaining the world. I got bored.

I loved this book!!!
Nothing about this was predictable, I wasn't able to put it down! I would have preferred a little bit of context/explanation in the beginning.

The writing is great, but the world building is so poorly executed also i didn't like how the characters are so touchey from the very start of the book and they're so bland :(
