El, a sweet girl who has a crush on her best friend, has been trying to impress said best friend with her “year of being wild” & finds herself in the position to do something amazing or amazingly stupid — live with Ray (the best friend) on a “queer commune” that they are going to buy, along with two of their other friends. What could go wrong?

I thought this book was adorable. The whole cast of characters was great & I really enjoyed reading about them & their journey. I wish that Jamie’s instagram for the cottage was real, because I would have followed it! Just a really lovely book about the power of friendship, found family & finding oneself through the discomfort of life & love. I definitely would recommend this one to my friends that like wholesome rom-coms!

I guess what I’m saying is, next year, although I don’t actually have to be wild, I’ll try my best to be, because look where I was. And look where I am now.

there was a time where i wanted el to end up with rachel so i don’t know how good of a sign that is, but it does also kind of make sense that el is a very unreliable narrator when it comes to ray. still, until they got together they had very few moments where i really felt their chemistry. enjoyable read anyway, and very lovable characters!

A very good light read. I’d recommend it for anyone who needs a palate cleanser.
