I expected to enjoy this book more  than i did. This book was too long with many unnecessary back story. The plot twist was a bit disappointing to me.
But i enjoyed the sarcasm and the way she planned her murders.

This was an interesting read. I struggled at first to get into it, I found that it is quite similar in nature to killing eve. I definitely feel that Mackie was inspired by killing eve when writing this book. Personally I found it hard to keep a track of the different characters and there connection to Grace the female protagonist. I did find myself laughing out loud at points and the book was fairly well written. I do however, feel that the ending could have been more precise and condensed down.

I have a mixed review on this book. I really enjoyed the writing style and found it really easy to get into, however I just found the whole book too easy. Everything just fell into Graces hands too matter of fact and didn’t keep you in suspense at all. No hint that something could go wrong or that she was going to get caught, the fact she was imprisoned for something she didn’t do but miraculously got off jail time for a bit of evidence yet killing 5 people no evidence was left? Bit far fetched for my liking.

The ending really pissed me off to be honest - classic male heroism coming in at the end taking the icing on the cake and the whole fortune with it, absolute wanker.

I was given an ARC audiobook copy free through Netgalley.
This was a dark and addictive story of revenge and strangely I enjoyed it! I'm not normally a fan of morally grey (or just plain unlikeable!) main characters, but Grace's dark, caustic humour and drive, alongside her introspection and views on society made for a really interesting point of view, and there were enough twists to keep me interested even when we know what the book is about from the outset - guess what, killing her family! It was paced really well, and I liked the structure of Grace recounting events from her prison cell, jumping from the past to the present day.

I would definitely recommend this book for people who enjoy thrillers but don't want too much gore, and want to read from a perspective other than that of the victim. The audiobook was really fun to listen to, and I thought Charly Clive and Paul Panting did an excellent job narrating, although I did have to go back and re-listen to sections because sometimes I got lost in the main character's tangents, and to make sure I understood the connections between the people she was talking about. I adore this cover - the colour and illustration are great, and I think really match the tone of the book.
