One of my favourite series ever. I love a grumpy x sunshine and a found family. This was my first Lucy Score, book; it made me fall in love with her writing and these characters. I immediately fell in love with both of the mcs, I loved the introduction to the world, it was entertaining and drama-filled from page 1. I not only fell in love with the mcs but also all the side characters, I could see the setup for future books but I also loved the depth other characters brought, which added depth to the mcs. It was a perfect slow burn that's full of tension, humour, and love. What was perfect was that you got the slow burn in the first half and the spice in the second half; the story had a crime side plot that was well-developed enough to make it a massive part of the story, linked to multiple side characters, and really dragged you in. I also loved the fact that they had real conversations and even though it was a happy ending, the conversations and self-healing to get there were healthy (in the end) and realistic. 6/5 stars!

I went into this book knowing it would be slightly slow, but I had heard that this author’s writing was supposed to be great. However, it fell extremely flat.

There are so many plot holes, as well as points in the book where you think something interesting is going to happen, and it just doesn’t, there is no sense of time or a real plot during it, and the ending felt rushed and drawn out all at the same time. Very underwhelming, and a waste of my time.

The male character Knox was extremely unlikeable, he wasn’t just grumpy, he was plain cruel. Every time he showed up I felt visibly annoyed, and as soon as the split happened, I was so happy. Until he had to ruin it by showing up like he hadn’t just DUMPED HER A SECOND AGO!! The only time I actually liked him was with Waylay, in fact she and Stef were the only characters in the whole thing who I liked. Personally, I feel like Naomi forgave him way to quickly, and I was audibly screaming at her to just leave him.
I honestly thought that Naomi should have ended up with Nash, seeing as they had so much chemistry and he was, well you know, NICE to her.
Knox just gave me the icks the whole time, like who calls someone ‘Baby’ and swears in every other line.
In addition, Tina just shows up out of nowhere in literally the last 50 pages, and there’s a whole abduction situation that just completely ruins any sense of reality which this brick of a book had built up on.
