Sigh.
I'll start by saying that I love Lucy Score. Rock Bottom Girl and By a Thread - *chef's kiss*.
This one has taken oven Booktok and Bookstagram, and I understand. I would call this "entry-level romance". I've been reading romance for nearly two decades, and the plot devices, characters and tropes all felt overly familiar and nothing special.
That being said... IT'S NOT A BAD BOOK. Lucy Score is a super talented writer, and I'd recommend Things We Never Got Over to people to hook them into the romance genre.
As others mentioned, this book was also way too long. I felt very tired by the end when the whole Evil Twin sidestory was unraveling. It was just too much. But, again, it might be that's it's simply not my thing.
TLDR; if you're looking for a book with spice go get into the romance genre, and love the small town and grumpy/sunshine tropes, this is for you. Even more if you enjoy a side of mystery and suspense to your romance.
If you've read A LOT of romance, you might be disappointed and a tad bored.
