i really really love this book, i honestly didn’t think i could enjoy the other books in the off campus series as much as the first one but this managed to do just that! I love seeing a different side to the characters you get to know in the first book. I really enjoyed seeing grace struggle with her long term friend that wasn’t always healthy for her and how she discovered the similarities between the loyalty she felt she needed to have with the loyalty logan needed to have with his father who wasn’t healthy for him . The way this book portrays how addiction can affect the whole family felt realistic to me, as someone who has had experience in this area as well. Really love how Elle Kennedy can tell such a captivating love story as well as target major life issues people struggle with in real life.

Im loving the off campus series and i was going to give this book 5 stars. However the last 25% of this book really dropped the rating for me. Logan’s dad being an alcoholic really hit home for me as someone with a parent that struggles with this, and the way alcoholism is presented in this book is honestly very accurate. However, i hated how Grace reacted to this. The way she gets mad at Logan for saying she might leave him because he has to take care of his dad is something i also imagine happening to me and i think Grace had no right to react the way she did and blame Logan for that while he was going through a rough spot. I also did not like Grace when Logan made the “mistake” which honestly i don’t think was as big of a deal as she made it out to be. She could’ve just heard him out when he called her during the break and try and understand what he was saying but the fact that she just completely ignored him annoyed me so much Personally i didn’t really like Graces actions during this book but i absolutely loved Logan, he’s the sweetest. I do think i liked the first 50-70% of this book more than ‘The Deal’ but the last part of the book just really ruined the story for me. However i still think this is a good, quick read and i will continue the series

Notes:
- I think I'm becoming desensitised to the misogyny in this series but I'm still docking major points off for it.
- Didn't like this one as much since angst was a big driver in the plot and it's not the trope for me.
- Logan is another wonderful fictional romantic lead (minus the misogynistic writing ofc) however he does seem slightly more respectful than Garrett.
