this collection and how i feel about it is hard to put my finger on. some of the poems were incredible- i will always come back to them as some of my favorite poems. others didn’t click. however, i get this feeling that one day they will. so, i will definitely revisit this in the future and i’m excited to read more from ada limon!

It's one of those books that leaves you craving a second read because you can't help the feeling that you definitely missed something.
Visually stimulating in a "type of poetry the girls in Sofia Coppola films would be interested in" but like minus the white perspective. That sounded contradictory but the girls that get it, get it.

I liked half of the poems. Some were very relatable and some were very funny.  The middle was fast paced and I enjoyed it. It took me a really long to finish this book.

I liked Limón’s “Bright Dead Things” more than this collection, but nevertheless she continues to impress and move me with her work! I’m in awe of how Limón manages to capture experiences in ways I’ve never thought about, and with a kind of eloquence that is uniquely hers alone.
