This is one of the stronger books in the series, but still could have done with wayyyyyy less of the subplots. But the Jamie & Claire stuff was GOOD, and it was so lovely to see them with many of their kids and grandkids. I didn't even mind the Brianna & Roger & kids arc. The return to home at the end of the book for all of these characters was just 🥹🥹🥹. Now let my babies REST.

A bit slow at the end, but overall this is probably my favorite Outlander book so far.

This is another wonderful addition to this series which has become one of my favorite series as once I get into the story, it's hard to stop until I'm at the end and then I keep wanting more!

I loved being able to read about Claire, Jamie, Ian, Brianna, Roger, the kids, Rollo and some other characters that have become a part of the Fraser clan though my heart ached for the losses that happened in this book though I knew they were coming because I happened to accidentally look at some spoiler reviews but my heart still ached.

I am so very happy that Ian and Rachel are married in this book and am so excited to see what their future is like which will hopefully be filled with as much happiness as possible for them who have had their fair share of losses and struggles.

I continue to love reading about Claire and Jamie who have also had to deal with their fair share of hardships and I'm so glad that they are able to eventually make it back to Fraser's ridge.

Looking forward to the next book and I will certainly be sad when the series does eventually end. Highly recommend this series in general!

Competent writing, good researching but too bloody long! And I still hate her pacing in the last hundred pages. I did appreciate that I could hear Hamilton playing in my head but Claire is still supercilious and able to fix everything ven in the eighteenth century and I don’t get bri and roger’s timeline. We didn’t need William at all and the same stuff keeps happening to Claire and Jamie! They’re walking targets and at some point, that doesn’t happen as often as it does to them. It’s just overly done and I skimmed a solid half of this book because it was extraneous.
